Poetry roundup

April 23rd, 2012

There’s some amazing poetry available online, from purely online journals like Linebreak and Literary Bohemian to traditionally print journals expanding their online presence by making either samples or their entire archives available on the web. Poets.org will email you a poem a day if you register, as will The Writer’s Almanac (or you can read the poem online). It’s a poet’s paradise out there if you care to look for it. Here are four poems from around the web this week to get you started.

From Poetry, “Still Life” by Kathy Nilsson.

From Linebreak, “Reverie” by Kimberly Gray. If you’re not reading Linebreak every week, you’re missing some amazing poetry.

From Jubilat, “Blue Prelude” by Saeed Jones. Remember his name.

And from Passages North, “Register of Eliminated Villages” by Tarifa Faizullah. Wow. Just wow.

What are your favorite online journals? Drop me a line in the comments and I’ll help spread the word.
