Wow! We are in the US for 1 more week, but husband reports 3 inches of snow on the ground in Helsinki. The first real snow of the season. I’d been holding out hope that winter just wouldn’t happen. Oh well. All the Finns are happy, though, it makes things lighter! Whatever, it just make things snowier!

Tracy – We got some snow, then it melted and hasn’t come back to the flatlands. The mountains are now doing great. And this little patch of dirt is unrepresentative since it’s surrounded by stone work and is underneath the balcony, so the soil there is probably a few degrees warmer than, say, in the woods but still. A bit much for January
