We now return to our regularly scheduled programming
March 7th, 2010

I spoke too soon. I always do. The first warm day always does this, the first buds, the first bees. We saw bees on Monday, bees greedily visiting our pocket of crocuses by the rose bushes, and my mind turned to spring, turned sharp and sudden. It couldn’t last, of course, this is March in Switzerland; we can get – have gotten – snow on Easter, after all. I know that, after all these years I know that a warm day can be followed by snow. But that first day, that first post card from spring, always sets my head spinning.

same here. Last Sat was 14C and last night it was -7C and we had about 6cm of snow yesterday morning.
I hate groundhogs.
I had my hopes up too, but have made the most of the weather this weekend with a fondue and a trip to a thermal pool (both of which we were warned against in antenatal classes last week, which apparently only served to whet my appetite).
Same here as well — a sunny, bloom-studded weekend with the year’s first trip to the playground… followed by snow. A whole week’s forecast of snow. Spring can be a horrible tease, though it sometimes helps to remember that she’s waiting just offstage.
Exactly. Playground. Sunglasses. Traded the boots for clogs. And then the world was white, overnight.
