On the fifth day
September 19th, 2008
The weather turned on Friday, low clouds and rain. At breakfast we couldn’t see past the grey eiderdown wrapping the windows in a damp chill. Both boys had colds with wracking coughs that woke each other up at night. Instead of riding the gondola to the Mittlestation and walking the smooth wide walking trail that is as easy as a road we walked around the lake, fed the ducks,
and looked at the old-time classic cars that were in Arosa that weekend, inexplicably, for a race. (Check out that fog!)
And everybody went to bed early.

Sorry to hear about the bad coughs (we’ve been sick here as well). So much fun to see photos from your neck of the woods! That fog is something indeed (it actually looks very much like that here this morning as well).
Sorry for the coughs and colds, but what a lovely day! The fog and all–but most especially the cars. My son would have loved the cars.
Kristen – I expected him to love the cars but actually his favorite thing were the police cars at the beginning and the end of the parade. (All the cars drove a “Corso” through the village with one police car in the front and one at the all end. The police cars were THE BEST!)
dp and kirsten – coughs are finally getting better. Big boy needed anti-biotics but little boy didn’t. Good thing, as little boy HATES taking medicine and big boy is very good at it.
